Here's how the GN 6210 GN Link™ Wireless Headset System works:
The GN 6210 headset pairs to both your desktop phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. The pairings are set up through the base/charger and are active simultaneously. This means the headset is continuously "listening" for an incoming phone call at all times, from both phones. The headset identifies which phone is ringing and automatically connects to the ringing phone.

When you make a call, the headset connects to the phone that is closest to you. If you're within the Bluetooth range (33 feet) of both phones, you can simply turn the cell phone off to use the desk phone or disable the desktop connection to use the cell phone by moving out of range or disconnecting the charger/base.

If your mobile phone and your desk phone both ring at the same time, the call that is put through to the headset is the one whose signal reaches the GN 6210 first. When the GN 1000 RHL Remote Handset Lifter accessory is used with the GN 6210, the headset gives you one ring tone when the call is from the desk phone, and a different tone when the call is from the mobile phone - so you'll always know which phone you are answering.
